I admire the fact that you will spend your time as a caregiver. My grandfather had hospice during his last days and I cannot say enough about the service they provided and the kindness they showed him and my grandmother. You provide a desperately needed service for the person who is ill and their families. It takes a special person to be there during this time.
Thank you for sharing about the service you provide. It will be interesting to hear how you integrate the content of this course (largely taking care of oneself) with your professional experience.
C.P. thank you for your kind words. Just like with anything, there are good hospices and bad ones. I think the key is to find one that is medium size. They have enough to warrant the appropiate staff but not too large to forget the care is about the people and not the bottom line. Throught the years we had both my father and grandmother on hospice services. It's a beneficial service that sometimes gets overlooked.
Prof, that is something I continue to struggle with. Taking care of myself is low on my priorities and something I have been working on. That is one reason I am so interested in this class and it's lessons.
